Summer is here! The warmer weather means barbecues, picnics, and, in general, more outdoor activities. It also means that your skin will have that warm summer glow that only tanning can bring. The problem is that tanning is definitely not in your best interest, health-wise. Study after study has shown that prolonged and unprotected exposure to the summer sun can greatly increase the risk for developing skin cancer. In addition, exposure to the sun can, over time, cause the skin to thicken and toughen. This means that you can end up with a face like a catcher’s mitt if you do a lot of suntanning. So how can you have that beautiful bronze skin that whispers summer without risking your life and looks. The answer is spray tans.
Spray tans are the healthy tanning choice. When you spray tan, there is absolutely no exposure to harmful ultraviolet, or UV, rays. (The UV rays from the sun are what causes your skin to darken when you tan outdoors.) Because of this, there is no health or beauty risks involved. You end up with a very natural tan that is safe, effective and long lasting. Plus, it’s extremely easy to do!
In order to get a spray tan, all you have to do is head to your local spa, beauty salon or tanning establishment. Once there, a trained technician will take you through the process. In no time at all, you’ll walk out with a tan that will make your friends think you spent a week in the tropics. That’s how natural these tans look! They are virtually indistinguishable from a tan obtained through exposure to the sun. You look like you’ve spent days on the beach, but without the health risks. It’s a win/win.
Another bonus of spray tans is price. They are extremely affordable. A whole month’s worth of tanning costs around $35.00. That’s cheaper than using a tanning bed and a whole lot safer too!
An Airbrush Tan Is A Thing Of Beauty

A rich, golden tan has always been considered a sign of health and beauty. A tan sets off eye color and facial features, making them more striking. A tan tells other people that you’re active, healthy and in tune with nature. More importantly, tan skin is touchable skin. That’s something that should never be underestimated when you’re trying to attract that special someone. The problem is it usually takes weeks to get that healthy tanned glow. Who has the time for that? Now, an airbrush tan can quickly give you a tan that’s identical to someone who has been laying out in the sun, or in a tanning bed, for weeks.
An airbrush tan, as the name implies, is a tan that you get when a natural solution is airbrushed onto your bare skin. This solution interacts with the upper layers of you skin and produces an instantaneous, natural tan. This is not a “fake bake” look. This is the kind of tan that was previously only available to people vacationing in the tropics. It’s the kind of tan that turns heads and drops jaws. It’s the tan you always wanted but never had the time for. Plus, an airbrush tan is good for your skin.
You see, suntanned skin is actually unhealthy skin. The ultraviolet, or UV, rays from the sun that cause your skin to darken also can increase the chances that you’ll develop skin cancer in the future. Skin cancer is nothing to brush off. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the US. Each year, almost two million new cases are diagnosed. That’s more cases each year than breast, prostate, lung and colon cancer combined! It’s nothing to mess with. Skin cancer is deadly and disfiguring.
Don’t mess around with your health. Stop wasting your time. Make your next tan an airbrush tan and get that healthy, sunny glow the safe and fast way!

Let’s face it. Suntanning is a losing proposition. It’s kind of like smoking cigarettes at this point. Everybody knows it’s bad for you, Besides, the people who still do it are so far into denial they probably don’t matter anyway.
The problem with tanning is that, unlike cigarettes, it’s still looks sexy. There’s just something about a tanned body that’s attractive. The problem is how do you get that “California” look with out running the risk of getting that “cancerous mole” look. Thanks to modern technology and quality spray tan equipment, there now is a way.
Spray tans give you the suntanned look without all the suntanned hassle. The problem is that a lot of people confuse a salon spray tan with the old “fake bake” self tanning products they were familiar with years ago. Tanning has come a long way since then. Modern airbrush tans have nothing to do with the self tanning products of years ago.
The difference between the spray tan equipment of today and the tanning products of yesterday is technology. The spray tan equipment of today can actually uses the same process to darken your skin as the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
A piece of spray tan equipment called an airbrush sprays a natural liquid that interacts with the upper layers of your skin to effectively darken those layers the same way exposure to the sun does. This is no home tanning cream that dyes your skin. This is a naturally produced tan that is indistinguishable from one produced by the sun’s harmful UV rays.
The question now is why are you risking your life by laying on the beach or in a tanning bed? Those tanning methods increase your risk for skin cancer while toughening and thickening your skin. Cut it out now!
Spray tans give you the same result and keep you looking beautiful for years to come.
The Spray Tan Booth – What To Expect

So you’ve decided to get a spray tan instead of risking your health laying out in the sun or in a tanning bed. Good for you! You’ve made the right choice. Not only that, you’ve made the healthy choice. Suntanning and tanning beds help create the nearly two million new cases of skin cancer that are diagnosed in the United States every year. Now that you’ve decided on spray tans, what can you expect? The spray tan booth is a chill place. We’ll help you get ready.
One of the things you can do is shower. No, seriously. We love your hygiene. It’s top notch and you smell luscious. The reason you shower right before getting spray tans is to avoid blotching and streaking. A spray tan booth uses a natural liquid that bonds with the very top layers of your skin, changing the colors of those layers. If you don’t exfoliate just prior to tanning, you can end up with “hot spots” of dead skin cells.
The tanning liquid will color these areas darker because of the concentration of dead skin cells. The end result? A blotchy, darker patch right where you don’t want it. Shower and scrub with a loofah and you’ll avoid this problem.
Another thing to do prior to getting in the spray tan booth is to decide if you want an all over tan or you want tan lines. If you’re uncomfortable being naked in front of other people, you might want to bring a bathing suit along with you for the appointment. The suit will keep your “naughty bits” from being tanned.
My advice? Go for it. You always wanted an all over tan and this is the opportunity to get one. The salon employee who will be applying the tanning liquid has seen all of your stuff before. It’s just another day on the job for them. So go bare when you visit the spray tan booth. You’ll be glad you did later.
The Best Fake Tan Isn’t Fake At All

Once the weather gets warmer, everybody wants a good looking tan. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to spend the day at the beach. That means a lot of people go looking for alternative ways to get that rich, golden look. They go looking for the best fake tan. What they don’t know is that the best fake tan isn’t a fake. It’s real.
A fake tan is not really a tan at all. It’s a substance that darkens or colors the surface of the skin. Think of these fake tans less as tanners and more as a kind of skin dye. Like all dyes, they are imprecise, messy and easily washed away. They also don’t very real. They tend to be to be too bronze or too yellow. The worst of them make the person wearing it look like an orange Popsicle stick. Not exactly the coolest look.
The best fake tan is a spray or airbrush tan. Actually, it really isn’t fake at all, since it darkens and colors the skin naturally just like a real tan. Spray tans use an all natural substance that interacts with the very top layers of your skin. This substance takes the skin cells in these layers and actually changes their color. It’s really the same metabolic process that occurs when you suntan, except a lot quicker, easier and and safer.
The best part about an airbrush tan is that it lasts, just like a real tan, so it is definitely the best fake tan you can buy. You can take a shower. You can take a bath. You can even swim and the color stays on and stays even. That’s because a spray tans are not dyes. They change the actual color of the skin, so there’s no mess. The color won’t come off on your clothes or your bedding. It stays put. When the color begins to naturally fade, just like a suntan, you simply go back to your salon for another treatment. What could be easier?
Tan Skin – Get It The Healthy Way

Back in the day, pale skin was a sign of beauty. The paler the skin, the more desirable the owner. Pale skin was a sign of nobility and of success. It meant that the person with the pale skin didn’t have to labor outdoors under a hot sun. Tan skin, like rough hands, was a sign of social inferiority. This is where pejorative words like “redneck” come from.
This all changed back in the 1920s when increased standards of living gave rise to a leisure class. These people had enough money to spend significant amounts of time in warmer climates. Beach resorts sprang up to accommodate them. Places like Cannes, San Tropez and Nice became synonymous with idle wealth and languorous days spent in tropical sunshine. Suddenly, the tables were turned. Tan skin, once declasse, was now radically transformed into a symbol of attractiveness. Everybody wanted tan skin.
Today is no different. A tan is still considered sexy. The problem is that suntanning is risky business. The ultraviolet radiation that darkens your skin also considerably increases your risk of developing skin cancer. Skin cancer is no laughing matter. It is disfiguring and it can be deadly. Additionally, prolonged exposure to the sun thickens and toughens the skin, making it leathery. We’ve all seen that old woman at the beach who has been tanning her whole life. Right. Enough said.
There are healthier ways out there to get that sunlit glow. Self tanners are an inexpensive and convenient way to get tan skin in the privacy of your own home. You simply apply them to your skin like you would suntan lotion. They darken the skin, like a tan, without any exposure to UV rays.
Spray tans are another solution. Available at salons and spas, a spray tan uses a natural substance that actually changes the color of the top layer of your skin, just like a suntan does. Furthermore, a spray tan is virtually indistinguishable from a suntan. They’re that good.
The Best Summer Skin Is Healthy Skin

It’s summertime and, as the song says, the living is easy. The breezes are soft and warm. The best fruits and vegetables are in season. The days are filled with sunshine and flowers. The nights with moonlight and romance. Okay, maybe that’s a bit much. Nonetheless, summer is a fun season and nothing says summer like a deep, dark tan. Summer skin may be tan skin, but how you get that tan is extremely important.
Your skin gets tan because you’ve been exposed to radiation. I’ll say that again. Solar radiation causes skin to tan. You probably already knew this, on some level, but you really need to understand the dangers of suntanning before you and your skin get out there this summer. Summer skin needs care and it’s up to you to take care of your skin this summer. You’re not doing yourself any favors either, in the short term or in the long term, by exposing your skin to the sun’s ultraviolet, or UV, radiation.
Excessive exposure to UV rays have a couple of unintended side effects besides great looking summer skin. One side effect is skin cancer. Skin cancer is the most prevalent type of cancer in the United States. Over two million new cases are diagnosed each and every year. That’s more than all the other major types of cancer combined. Skin cancer can kill you and will disfigure you. It’s ironic that you increase your rick of dying by trying to get a “healthy” tan.
The other side effect of sun exposure is skin damage. Over time, skin exposed to the sun gets thicker, harder and less resilient. Each time you suntan, you take one step away from being a tropical beauty and one step towards becoming the Marlboro man. That’s something to think about. Creased and leathery is probably not your ultimate beauty goal.
Take care of your summer skin. Use a sun block when you’re outside for extended periods. Use a good moisturizer when you come back in. If you simply have to have a tan, stay away from the UV rays and get a spray tan from a salon. It looks just as good and it just might save your life.
Spray Tan Tips To Enhance Your Tanning Experience

A spray tan really is the only way to go and in this article we’ll talk about some important spray tan tips to keep in mind. A spray tan is fast, it’s convenient and it’s affordable! More importantly, it’s good for you. More cases of skin cancer are diagnosed every year than all other types of cancer combined. That’s some serious information.
The bottom line is that the more time you spend in the sun, the higher your risk of developing skin cancer. Why risk disfigurement or death when you can get a tan that’s virtually indistinguishable from a suntan? These spray tan tips that will help you get the most out of your tanning experience.
1. Exfoliate. Take a shower right before you go and get your spray tan. When you’re in the shower make sure you buff you body big time with a loofah. If you didn’t shower and exfoliate, you’d have patches of dead skin on your body that would lead to blotching and streaking.
2. Wax Or Shave Before Tanning. Some spray tan tips, like this one, are pretty self explanatory. Waxing or shaving remove layers of skin cells. If you color those skin cells and the wax or shave, you’re simply removing the skin color you just paid for.
3. Wear Old Clothes To The Salon. Sure, you’re gonna be buck naked when you get tanned, but you can’t be buck naked on the way home. Most spray tans take 30 minutes or so to set. If you wear that favorite top to the salon, chances are it’s going to get “tanned” along with you.
4. Go Natural. After you shower and exfoliate, avoid the temptation to wear deodorant or perfume. These substances contain chemicals that will interact with the tanning solution, and not in a good way.
Hopefully these few spray tan tips will give you something to think about the next time you want to go in for a spray tan!

It seems that when summer rolls around everyone wants a nice tan. A tan shows other people that you get outside and that you like to have fun. A golden tan says that you’re fit, healthy and attractive. The problem is nobody has the free time it takes to get a great tan. Sure, when you were 17 you had all summer to go to the beach, hang out and get tan. Now, you’re lucky to see a picture of a beach, let alone lay on one. There is a solution though. A spray on tan gives you the deep, rich skin tone you want in minutes. You’ll look like you just got back from Cabo. Who doesn’t want that?
A spray tan is a tan that comes from a spray. (Surprise!) The difference is that, unlike old fashioned spray tans which simply colored your skin, a spray on tan actually interacts with your skin to produce a natural, dark color. The color is so natural that it is nearly impossible to to tell a spray tan from one that took days in the sun to achieve. You really have to see it to believe it.
A spray on tan is also quick and easy. It only takes about 15 minutes at your local spa or salon to go from pale to perfect. In addition, a single application lasts for up to a week. You can swim, shower and bathe without losing that great tanned look. The color also stays on you and not on your clothes, bedding and furniture. It really is the only way to tan.
Finally, a spray on tan is really affordable. You can get a month’s worth of tanning for around $50.00. That’s a lot cheaper than a tropical vacation or even a week at the local beach. Plus, you don’t have to risk being exposed to all those nasty UV rays. A spray tan keeps you, and your skin, safe.
Self Tanners – Some Basic Tips

Don’t have time for the beach and can’t get to the salon but still want that gorgeous tanned look? Your answer is a self, or home tanner. Self tanners are a group of products where you apply a liquid or foam directly to your skin and end up with that golden suntanned glow a few hours later. Like any other product on the market, there are pros and cons to self tanners. You have to do your homework first in order to find the one that’s right for you. Here’s a couple of things to keep in mind.
1) Price. One of the first thing to look for in a home tanner is price. The prices range from the very expensive to the ridiculously cheap. However, there is no correlation between the price and result. Read some reviews, ask around and don’t assume the most expensive tanner will give you the best tan.
2) Pre-test. Test the tanner on yourself while you’re in the store and before you make your purchase. Simply take a little bit of the tanner and apply it to an inconspicuous place on your body, like under your arm. This way, you get to see how the tanner is going to react with your particular skin type.
3) Shower. Once you decide on a particular tanner, take a shower before you using it. You want your skin as smooth and as clean as possible before you apply the tanner, since oil and patchy skin can cause streaking and blotching. You don’t want a blotchy, streaked tan do you?
4) Wear gloves. Self tanners darken the skin. Your hands are covered in skin, especially your palms. Unless you want to look like you have King Kong hands, wear a pair of latex gloves when you apply the tanner.
5) Wait. Once you’ve applied the tanner, wait at least 15 minutes before you get dressed unless, of course, you want tanned clothing too because self tanners stain most fabrics.
